Vintage 1939 Heavy Metal The General Tire Oval Double Sided Sign 36 X 23 1/2
The General Tire Oval Gas Station Tire Sign. This THE GENERAL TIRE sign is from 1939 from the General Tire and Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio. This is an obviously used sign in surprisingly good condition for being 80 years old. It does have some rusty areas but for being on a island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean for over three quarters of a Century, I would say that the overall condition is pretty terrific! It is a double sided sign which has been stored inside for many years. Limited audience, yes I know, but the sign is simply to heavy to deal with packing it up & mailing it out. Please view all of the photos as they serve as an integral part of the description. Also please ask any questions you may have. I have not attempted to wash or clean this, but I believe that much of the dust will easily wash off. I will leave this to the new owner. Mahalo plenty & aloha!
