Vintage 1960’s GOODYEAR TIRES Metal Dealer Advertising Sign8′ Long! Very nice vintage Goodyear Tires DEALER sign. Research suggests that the sign is from the 1960’s… This particular logo was first used in 1968. The winged foot in the sandal belongs to Mercury, the god of merchants and travelers, who was also the messenger of the gods who quickly delivered good news using his special shoes. The founders of Goodyear started using Mercury as part of their logo in 1900, as they felt that he had many attributes that could symbolize their company and products. This is a rare find, as it was issued only to dealers… Marked Property of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Front uses the traditional Goodyear blue, yellow and white… The back is solid white. 8 feet long x 14 1/2 tall. Made of flexible metal. This is an awesome piece of automotive advertising! Would look great in a garage, man cave, or shop. Very nice vintage condition! NO holes, tears, or splits. Shows minor signs of age and use… Mainly around the holes from being displayed… Please feel free to ask for additional information or photos.
