Vintage Original Goodyear Large Porcelain Flying Shoe Sign 22 x 63 RARE
Original large Goodyear Flying Shoe sign. This is the large size sign measuring 22″ x 63″ in size. This would have been on the side of a building with the large Goodyear letters. Naturally, when that sign comes down, someone makes off with the shoe, so lots of large signs out there needing this piece to complete them! As you can see from the photos, there are some large areas where the porcelain has chipped off. Someone paint over those areas with a lighter blue primer/paint. Personally, if I was keeping the sign I would probably strip off that light blue paint and just let the bare metal show. Or you could have the areas repaired, or paint over with a more correct blue. Still, with the paint that is on it, you can see it is still a great looking sign! From a little distance, the damage doesn’t really show that much. It still has lots of gloss and shine to it! The back is stenciled as all authentic signs are and the original hangers are all there and ready to be used to hang it once more!
