Vintage Sign Rare Original 1930s National Tire Service Antique Porcelain Sign
I have for sale a very rare, authentic 1930s National Tire Service porcelain arrow sign that are extremely hard to come by and rarely come up for sale. This quality sign is genuine authentic and original. Lettering is completely straight (no wavy appearance like you can get with reproductions). The layers of porcelain on this sign further indicate its originality. The very first layer on original porcelain signs was done with white enamel and the other colors were layered on top of this white enamel. As you can see from the pictures where the paint is gone, there is a first layer of white enamel with the resulting orange and black layers above this white enamel. Finally, as you lightly feel across the paint with your finger, you can feel the slight difference in heights of the colors, again, indicating an original sign due to the layering effect the artists of the signs used. I’ve seen other National Tire Service signs out there like this, but, rarely in this kind of condition. Most of the ones I’ve come across have been pretty beat up and dull in color. This vintage arrow sign is in good shape and has Great color and gloss. Imagine taking your time and enjoying looking at this beauty everyday up on your wall and in your collection. Be the only one among your friends who has this rare sign. It’s certainly a noteworthy piece in any valuable sign collection.
