Nice Vintage “GOODYEAR TIRES” Light up Dealer Sign. Sign is Double Sided, but designed for only one lit side. Easy to Hang from Wall or Sit on Shelf or Counter. Approx: 36.5″ L x 9.75″ H x 3.75 D, 7.75 lbs. Very nice GOODYEAR TIRES sign with great display pop! This is a double sided dealer sign and looks great as a wall hanger. We are pricing well under those as our offering does have some wear as shown, but still is a great sign. This double sided sign was designed to light up on one side only, not sure why, but that is how they were made. One side is light-through plastic and the other is a pressed hardboard and does not allow light to pass through. At 36.5″ x 9.75″ it is a large, but not an overwhelming size. Great for above a door or on any wall. It could be placed on a shelf or counter top as well. The light-through plastic side does have some discoloration which we did not try to cure in anyway, we mostly left the sign as we obtained it, minus some dust. The starter fuse in the light when we obtained item was a little hit and miss, so we replaced it with a new one and it works great. We found these signs dated from as far back as the 1960’s up to 1980’s, but we think ours is the later, most likely mid 1970’s to mid 1980’s (we think the old fuse may have been dated 1985, but not sure). The Adam’s Sign company sticker is still in place, but they have been making signs for over 70 years, so that does not narrow time down as much. Also, it appears GOODYEAR contracted with many companies to make these signs over the years as we saw at least 4-5 different manufacturers of these in our older sales records. We will heavy paper and bubble wrap the fluorescent bulb and leave it inside the cabinet but out of light sockets to prevent damage. The end of cabinet unscrews and then you can gently remove cover plate and unpack the bulb. We will heavy wrap the sign in bubble wrap and place in a sturdy Styrofoam lined box. We do this often.
